BALFOUR BRUT ROSÉ 2013 Magnum 150cl

Our flagship wine, in magnum format.

We believe this is the best possible expression of Balfour because the wine ages more gracefully in the larger bottle, at half the speed of its 75cl counterpart. Those with enough patience will be rewarded with a delightfully complex & elegant wine!

  • Chardonnay - 56%

Balfour Brut Rosé, "England's most exclusive pink fizz", is produced from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier grown exclusively on Hush Heath Estate. It is a multi-award winning vintage English Quality Sparkling Wine crafted using the Traditional Method made famous in Champagne.

Production of magnums is limited to only a few hundred bottles each year, and each is numbered and signed by our winemaker.

Fruit is hand harvested and gently pressed in our state-of-the-art winery and then it is fermented in cool, stainless steel tanks. The wine spends a minimum of 24 months on lees and is disgorged to order to maintain freshness.

Grape Varieties: 38% Pinot Noir, 56% Chardonnay, 6% Pinot Meunier

Alcohol: 12%

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Pale salmon pink, with a fine bead and a sustained mousse.

Nose: Very clean with notes of rosehip, red berry, herbs and pencil shavings.

Palate: Intensely vinous with nicely restrained acidity. The palate is bursting with redcurrant and sloe fruits and has a wonderfully long finish.

Ageing Potential: Will develop beautifully in bottle.

Food Pairings: Scallops with Kent Chorizo is our Winemaker’s favourite!
