Les Sixes
£60.00
Under the careful eye of Owen Elias, Balfour became the first English winery to plant the almost extinct grape varieties Arbanne and Petit Meslier, two historic grape varieties permitted but now rarely used in the production of Champagne. Low yielding but highly aromatic, these grape varieties have been blended with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier and Pinot Blanc to create 2,000 bottles of ‘Les Sixes’.
Part of our small parcel Winemaker Collection series, with labels designed by renowned artist Lothar Gotz, Les Sixes spent 5 years ageing on lees, creating a wine that is rich but fresh.
Tasting Note: Flavours of shortbread, lime, tangerine zest, touch of plum and flaked almond. A wonderfully complex, intriguing and unique wine.
Grape Varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Arbanne, and Petit Meslier
Alcohol: 12%
