Victoria Ash Winemaker, Hush Heath Estate
Vicky, Owen and Fergus, our Winemakers were born to be in the wine business, each having an intuitive approach and natural flair for winemaking. Recognising that it takes a dynamic team to produce outstanding English wines, and as such are proud to be part of the passionate team at Hush Heath.
Our Winemakers vision and creativity during our Harvest mean that no fruit passes through our facility without reaching its full potential. Having a bespoke on-site winery gives our winemakers precise control over the pressing process. Providing them with the opportunity to experiment at every stage of the production and create exceptional English wines.
Set within the Garden of England, the Hush Heath vineyards benefit from a favourable microclimate. Kent, is fortunate enough to enjoy above-average temperatures, and our surrounding ancient oak woodlands help to provide shelter to our vines and fruit. This supports optimal ripening conditions for our prized Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes.
Our vineyards were designed and planted under the meticulous eye of one of England’s leading consultants and Masters of Wine and cover over 100 acres. In addition to the mild climate, our estate benefits from outstanding soil- ranging from deep Wealden clay through to Greensand, which gives great complexity to our wines.
We want to push the boundaries of what English wine can be - so we keep experimenting. It keeps things interesting!
