Balfour flying with British Airways First Class

British Airways logoWe are excited to report that Balfour Brut Rosé will become the first English sparkling wine to be served on an airline. British Airways has chosen to offer Balfour on board its First Class flights and in its lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5, alongside BA’s existing range of wines and champagnes, between July and September 2011.

Lynn McClelland, British Airways’ head of catering, said, “No other airline has ever served English fizz to its customers. By giving our British and international customers an exclusive taste of the best of Britain, we are putting English wine making firmly on the map. We look forward to hearing what our customers think.”

Richard Balfour-Lynn said “I’m absolutely thrilled about the decision by British Airways to stock Balfour Brut. It shows we can compete with the best. At blind tastings, Balfour Brut beats French champagnes like Veuve Clicquot and Laurent Perrier.”
